Tips for blush from Stevee Danielle Hair and Makeup Las Vegas salon
So I have come to realize that a big percentage of women don’t use blush! Maybe because they can’t figure out the right colors or maybe because its to difficult to apply. Blush is one of my favorite parts of the makeup. Properly applied blush will light up your face and bring all the makeup together. Ill let you know the 2 things that will make you look great and make it easy to apply. First thing is picking the color. There are a few ways to do this: The first way you can use the color of your lips. This will be pretty close to your natural blush color. To get a more accurate shade go for a run or work out. This will cause you to blush and see what is your natural blush. If your feeling lazy slap your self! really this works spank your cheeks a few times to get the blood flowing. Now to pick what type of blush. We recommend MAC for the blush. They have a huge variety and it lasts long. Powder blush is good for oily skin and cream for dry skin. Tips for bringing out your eyes from Stevee Danielle Hair and Makeup Las Vegas salon
We could talk about this all day. I get asked this at least once a day in the salon so here we go with the basics. Lets start with Blue/Green eyes. A good choice would be colors with a cool undertone like different shades of blonde, lighter browns and especially for green eyes I would suggest red. These colors will really make your eyes pop out and get you tons of compliments. Everyone in Las Vegas loves blonde hair and blue eyes in the casinos. I have many clients that work in the service industry. We always stick to the blond colors if they have light eyes and they always tell me there tips go through the roof. Brown eyes… My favorite! With brown eyes you can capture that sexy dark side. Dark hair color is your friend. Carmel, dark brown ( especially with red highlights), Auburn. These hair colors will give your beautiful brown eyes a mysterious allure. Now for the complicated one Hazel eyes. The good thing about hazel eyes is that you have the opportunity to play with a wide spectrum of hair color. First you want to identify the colors you want to bring out. Blonde hair color will bring out the green , yellow and blue in your in your eyes. Red hair color will bring out the gray and brown. Brown hair color will bring out gold, gray, dark brown and green. Tips for picking your hair color from Stevee Danielle Hair and Makeup salon in Las Vegas
There’s always 1000 questions that come with “what new look will I go for this time” but lets simplify it. There are a few things that you need to consider.
- Whats your goal? Do you want to reinvent yourself, do something funky that just screams Las Vegas or just cover up some gray. you can also just highlight your natural colors for a subtle change. When you figure out want you want from your new hair color it will be much easier to move forward on your decision making.
- Lets talk about skin tones. For example if you have warm skin then ash or green base colors will not match. There are exceptions to the rules but not very often. If you are have light skin and green or blue eyes then you want to consider a warm or red color in your hair because it will really bring out your eyes. On the other hand if you put blond in your hair then it can give you either a country girl look or in some cases you look very bland and pale. Think about trying something with two blond colors together. A warm beige and light blond.
- Know whats natural for you! If you want it to look natural don’t go to far on the color wheel from your natural hair color, also the pattern of how the colors are applied could make it look really funky which could look great if that’s the look that you want but if not the pattern needs to be natural. Any professional working in legitimate Las Vegas hair salons will know the difference.
- Should you get color or highlights? Again it all depends on your base hair tone. While color you will have you going back to your hair salon to get touched up every 6 to 8 weeks due to root regrowth. Highlights can last about 3 months depending on how the stylist does it and how soon the semi-darker root will bother you. Color is generally cheaper than highlights especially since highlights look best with 2 different shades being used which is extra. Colors will be more likely to bring out your eyes and compliment your skin tone. Decide which one you will fit you best either style and/or budget and half the decision making is done.
- Should I color my hair extensions? Its better to get your natural hair colored first and then go to a Las Vegas salon to get the hair extensions matched. It also depends on the kind of hair extensions that you have. Some cannot take the chemical damage and will just fall apart so talk to the hair stylist that put the extensions in before you color your hair.
When you finally figure out what you want then the big question is… Do I do it myself or go looking for a Las Vegas hair salon? Even though at home color kits are great for saving some money, they have consequences. The pretty color shown on the front of the box is never a guarantee. Coloring your hair takes a formula. Your color you have now + the developer and colors desired = Your new hair color. The box does not know what your hair color is. It has the same formula for every person so not every persons hair is going to turn out that same color. Since you are more likely to make a mistake doing it on yourself, because its hair to get all the spots you can’t see, stick to semi permanent color since it comes out in a few washes. Permanent will have to be grown out so if you make a mistake you will have to live with it or pay more to get it fixed than if you would have to get it done by a professional in the first place. If you do decide to go with a professional colorist you can guarantee your color. Las Vegas hair salons will have a guarantee on there color.

Do you get more shadow under your eye rather than on your eye lid? Does it tend to crease or even fade? Well a simple trick to beat this is by using a primer before applying shadow. Using a primer keeps eye shadow from fading, creasing and makes shadows look brighter. There a lot of different brands out there from Urban Decay, MAC even Sally’s. There’s one out there for whatever budget you’re on. At Stevee Danielle Hair and Makeup we prefer to use MAC in our salon.
